October 2025 Herne & Broomfield ward update, from Councillors Grace Paget and Robert Jones:
- We're still recruiting for Herne & Broomfield Speedwatch volunteers, to help make local roads safer, so please let us know if you might be able to spare an hour per month for this
- We held an advice surgery at the Herne Centre on 20th September where residents could discuss concerns they have; we will be arranging more such sessions in future
- On 6th September we attended a walk round Curtis Wood with Council officials to review the management plan for the wood and ensure it is as well looked-after as possible.
June 2025 Herne & Broomfield ward update, from Councillors Grace Paget and Robert Jones:
- Following reports from residents that the double yellow lines in Albion Lane were badly faded, we are pleased to report that these have now been repainted and hopefully this should address some of the parking issues that have been occurring.
- Residents have also raised the issue of speeding through our villages on roads such as Hunters Forstal Road, Mill Lane, Margate Road and others so we have now set up Herne & Broomfield Community Speedwatch groups and are actively recruiting for volunteers to join us for speedwatch sessions.
- Littering and dog mess remain issues high on our agenda and we have been conducting a bin audit to ensure we have the right bins in the right places to try to tackle this issue.
