Walk-round Redrow estate in Greenhill

October 2025 Greenhill ward update, from Councillor Dan Watkins:

I'm working with St Peter's Church to help expand its facailities for the local community - more news to come!

I'm continuing to work with residents to push Redrow to make good their original commitments to residents on the footpaths, natural areas, lighting and highways through the estate. I have brought the Council's Planning team into the discussion to assist on this issue.

In terms of the traffic calming, we are awaiting a response from the Kent County Councillor for Greenhill, Adrian Kibble, but so far none has been received.

June 2025 Greenhill ward update, from Councillor Dan Watkins:

Residents have complained of regular speeding on Greenhill Road for a long time and I'm pleased to say that after many years of campaigning on this topic, finally we are close to the start of traffic calming measures being introduced; as such, in the autumn we will see raised tables being put in on Greenhill Rd, at several of the road junctions, including at Thornden Wood School, where we have particular concerns about the risk of accidents.

In response to residents concerns, I did a  inspection of the Redrow estate with fellow Councillors Grace Paget and Rob Jones. On the plus side, some nice areas for nature have been created. However, compared with the original plans, the developer has not yet built some of the footpaths and cycle ways, while others have a very poor surface finish. No good for prams, wheelchairs or scooters. We will support residents in pressing the developer to make good on the original commitments.
